Hilary has built a series of huts, cabins and shelters which explore themes of sustainability, industry and the pioneering spirit of the homesteader. The first Inside Out House was commissioned for Packwood Follies at Packwood House in Warwickshire, while most recent incarnations have been commissoned by Arts Council England for Barnaby Festival 2014, by curator Natasha Howes for The Lost Gardens of Manchester at Manchester Art Gallery and for The Late Great Planet Earth at Bury Sculpture Centre.
